What I would bring to the Cheltenham School Board:

I will bring a desire and an ability to transform our schools into places where all students thrive and succeed.  As a resident, I have been raising this issue with the district for a number of years.

I would focus the district’s attention on raising the PSSA/Keystone scores and improving the performance of students who are currently not thriving.

The district must acknowledge that while our schools are high quality schools for students who come to school prepared to take advantage of the excellent educational opportunities our district offers, our schools are less effective with students who need help and too many are not thriving.  This is unacceptable.

To measure success, I will have the district set goals that are specific and measurable.

An example,  concerning the PSSA/Keystone Exams, a specific and measurable goal might be:  On the 2020 PSSA and Keystone Exams, x% of all the students and x% of the historically low achiever group of students will score at least proficient on each test at each grade.
